"One must always think long-term, because life is so short." - Melheimian Maxim #100
I've taken a few weeks off from everything lately - including my blog - to finish my next cartoon book, "The Good News" and try to get healthy. Here's what Jesus looks like. It's shipping to the printer on Monday for a month-late printing.
Hey, I died. What's your excuse?
What else is happening in the Melheim world? Joseph comes home from Metigoshe tomorrow - his third week of camp this summer. Kathryn has been coloring cartoons for my book on the digital paint screen (nice work if you can get it). She leaves for Concordia in three weeks. My dad decided to take our advice and move into assisted living. Arlyce is trying to decide if she wants to go with me to Oxford for the dedication of He Qi's new mural at the Christian Mission Society House, to be dedicated by the Archbishop of Cantebury on October 26th.
My friends at www.flurry-studios.com are mocking up the first two of what I hope will be 120 animations from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 someday. And my former right-hand-man and marvelous friend Nora Tahtinen stopped in today. She's on the Youth Encounter board and they have some tough meetings ahead of them over the next few days. Keep our friends over there in your prayers.
And me, I'm plotting and planning and conspiring, enjoying my second life.
I think everyone should die at least twice.
It does an amazing job at clarifying life.
Ever since I died six weeks ago, I've run/jogged 35-55 minutes every day up and down the hills of Stillwater, eaten nothing but healthy fruits, veggies, oats, fish and wine and I haven't had a piece of red meat since I died. (Now there's something not everyone can say).
Exercise, diet, and stess... that's what the doctors told me I now must manage. So, if I'm late, I'm sorry, but I can't get all that riled up about it or it'll kill me again.
Diet, exercise and stress.
Can we go for best two out of three?
(PS The new Melheimian Maxim for the day came to me in the parking lot an hour ago when I was saying goodbye to Nora.)
