I've enjoyed a week on the road in Farmington Hills & Jenison, Michigan, then Dayton with the UMC and Pittsburgh. The most memorable day was Wednesday in Jenison, where we followed the evening talk with a pillow fight! Early this morning I flew to North Dakota for an 89th birthday party for my dad. He's doing a lot better than a couple months ago. He dressed for dinner, enjoyed the cake, and participated in the conversations. He's also gained 10 pounds, so we think the move has been healthy for him. Tomorrow I preach at Faith in West Fargo, then do the afternoon/evening before heading back to a little dad time. Then it's Bismarck, followed by dad time, followed by Cleveland (Bay Village). Life is good.
Good Day, Rich!
I'm sorry I haven't posted a comment in quite a while, but - - - - Your trip sounds like it's going quite well. You and your life work came up in conversation at church yesterday. We had a guest speaker, Rev. Rodger Prois, Assoc. Director of ELCA World Hunger & Disaster Appeal. He mentioned being Norwegian and from Minnesota, so I had to wait and talk to him after service. I mentioned that I had a sister and brother-in-law in Stillwater, MN, and he asked your name. He knew you right away, having nothing but compliments and wonderful things to say about you. He said you are definitely "one of a kind."
It's a small world, Rich, and it was wonderful speaking to a man in his position who knows you and had such compliments.
I love you,
Becky
